TOKYO-NTT DoCoMo Inc., Intel Corp., and IBM Corp. said they have come together to develop a new security specification for such advanced online mobile commerce services as electronic tickets and e-wallets.
Known as “Trusted Mobile Platform,” it will fend off viruses and other software attacks and allow the security of a device to be shared with other devices in the network, said the companies.
“The Trusted Mobile Platform provides a new foundation for mobile devices,” said Takanori Utano, executive vice president and chief technology officer of NTT DoCoMo Inc. “The goal of our joint research was to provide an open and secure architecture for future wireless data services.”
