BOULDER, Colo.-Cellport Systems announced a settlement with Peiker acustic GmbH & Co. KG that authorizes the company to use Cellport’s patented two-part Plug & Play architecture for wireless hands-free systems.
“We are delighted to have reached a settlement with Peiker and to grant them worldwide licensing rights for our technology,” said Pat Kennedy, Cellport’s chief executive officer. “This enhanced relationship strengthens the entire hands-free personal telematics category-and provides more motorists with a convenient way to use a wireless phone while driving.”
Cellport’s technology integrates a cell-phone’s voice, data and audio capabilities with a vehicle’s entertainment system, enabling hands-free communication.
Other Cellport licensees include Motorola, Harman Becker, Cullmann and Raytel.
