Ericsson wins follow-on EDGE contract in Malaysia

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson said it will be the prime supplier to upgrade and expand DiGi Telecommunications’ nationwide GSM/GPRS network with EDGE. The upgrade will allow the Malaysian carrier to offer high-speed data services, Ericsson said.

Ericsson was previously selected to upgrade DiGi’s EDGE network in several regions of Malaysia. This latest agreement includes EDGE-enabled equipment and modernization of DiGi’s core and radio network throughout the country.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.
