REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-Mobile software developer Openwave Systems Inc. named David Peterschmidt as president and chief executive officer, the company announced yesterday.
Peterschmidt, 57, is a veteran in the Internet and software industries. He most recently served as CEO and chairman of security software developer Securify.
Peterschmidt replaces Don Listwin, who will remain on the board as vice chairman.
“I look forward to working with Dave during this leadership transition and am confident he will take Openwave to the next level,” Listwin said. “In addition to focusing on my passion for cancer research, I will continue to serve on the boards of technology companies.”
