SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. announced a quarterly cash dividend of 7 cents per common share Wednesday.
The mobile chipmaker said the dividend will be paid Jan. 5 to stockholders of record at the close of business Dec. 8. Qualcomm shares were up 44 cents, or 1.13 percent, Thursday following the announcement.
The company made headlines last week when it announced plans for an $800 million one-way, high-speed network to deliver mobile television to handsets. Several major carriers are said to be negotiating to use the network.<
