SAN DIEGO-L.M. Ericsson said it has signed a contract extension with T-Mobile USA Inc. for GSM equipment and deployment in the 1900 MHz band. The contracts also will cover GPRS and EDGE technologies. The deal involves 18 T-Mobile USA markets, including Atlanta, Boston, Miami, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
The deal covers Ericsson products such as radio access, microwave transmission, prepaid and multimedia messaging services.
