TOKYO-UbiNetics and Renesas Technology Corp. said they have signed an agreement to develop what they describe as the first radio-frequency solution supporting W-CDMA and High Speed Downlink Packet Access in the frequency bands used in Japan, Europe and the United States.
This marks the second time both companies will work together on RF solutions. The first was in 2002.
“UbiNetics’ 3G system expertise and HSDPA experience is an ideal complement to Renesas’ world-leading RF technology,” said Yutaka Tanaka, department manager of system solution business at Renesas.
