PARIS-Alcatel Corp. said it has won a contract with Telefonica Moviles to deploy and integrate a video gateway solution into the carrier’s third-generation network in Spain.
This will enable the carrier to provide services such as video calls between 3G mobile handsets and fixed PCs, person-to-machine video applications like mobile tele-surveillance like “nanny cam” or video mailboxes, said Alcatel.
The company said the solution makes “possible video communications between any mobile and fixed terminal and even between terminals with different video protocols.”<
