CARROLLTON, Texas-CellStar Corp. announced its Latin American operations have increased purchases from Motorola Inc. to meet expected market growth demands. The company’s Celular Express business, which operates in Mexico and Miami, provides exports to much of Latin America.
Chief Executive Officer Robert Kaiser said that reorganization efforts in Latin America during the past 18 months have resulted in recaptured market share.
“Those operations have returned to profitability, and we believe that there is enormous growth opportunity in the region. In anticipation of a strong fourth quarter, as well as expected future growth, it was necessary to increase our purchases from Motorola,” said Kaiser.
