ST. LOUIS-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. said it was finishing the deployment of unobtrusive cell sites within shopping malls linked to small antennas located above ceiling tiles in an attempt to provide better coverage and serve more customers in select locations in Missouri and Kansas. The program was part of the carrier’s $58 million in construction programs for the two states this year that included the addition of 200 cell sites.
The malls benefiting from the improved in-building coverage include the Chesterfield, Mid-Rivers, South County and West County malls in St. Louis; the Battlefield Mall and Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, Mo.; the Independence Mall in Independence, Mo.; and the Towne West Mall in Wichita, Kan.
