DUBLIN, Calif.-New research has picked iAnywhere Solutions Inc. as the top player in the middleware market, besting 13 competitors. This is the company’s third straight year on top of that market, according to market research firm IDC.
The report said the middleware market grew 27.4 percent, or $424.4 million in 2003, up from $333 million in the preceding year.
IDC expects the market to be $1.3 billion in 2008.
“The vendor picture continues to become clearer with the largest players flexing their muscles and expanding their solutions,” said Stephen Drake, program manager, mobile infrastructure software at IDC. ‘The mobile middleware market is poised for significant growth over the next four years, and IDC believes that those leading this market today will play a significant role in this growth.”
