CTIA to build ‘wireless home’

WASHINGTON-Often times when people go to trade shows, it is a business trip that feels nothing like being at home. CTIA hopes to change that this year at its show in New Orleans in March.

It is building a 7,000-square foot home-the back porch of which will be the site of the show’s keynote.

The purpose of the Wireless Home is to showcase the “wireless lifestyle,” Rob Mesirow, CTIA vice president of operations, told the press Tuesday at a CTIA luncheon.

The Wireless Home “will really show how wireless technology is being integrated into everyone’s lives,” said Mesirow. He added that the purpose of CTIA’s show “is a little glimpse into what the wireless industry will become.”
