SAN FRANCISCO-InfiniRoute Networks Inc. said its Voice over Internet Protocol peering service for wireless carriers is now available.
InfiniRoute launched its Managed VoIP Peering service last year. The service now allows carriers to terminate and receive international traffic using VoIP technology. The company outlined benefits, including greater access to global markets, lower cost of operations, reduced technology risks and faster time to market.
“Mobile carriers represent a growing share of outbound international traffic,” said Andrew Burroughs, chief marketing officer of InfiniRoute. “In many countries, more than 50 percent of all international calls now originate over mobile handsets.
“However, very few mobile carriers have established international VoIP networks,” continued Burroughs. “This is largely due to the network complexities, capital and operating costs associated with VoIP architectures. InfiniRoute Networks enables mobile carriers to terminate and receive global VoIP traffic directly, significantly lowering their network operating costs without having to invest heavily in capital and personnel.”
