SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. said it has sampled a modem for CDMA2000 1xEV-DO services and a chipset for High-Speed Downlink Packet Access and EDGE networks .
The wireless company said it sampled the Cell Site Modem, otherwise called CSM6800, for CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A infrastructure equipment.
“Revision A enables rich wireless multimedia services such as high-speed transfer of bandwidth-intensive files (including high-quality pictures, video and music), interactive 3D gaming as well as multicasting services …” said Qualcomm.
The chipmaker also said it has accomplished an on-time sampling of the MSM6275 chipset for HSDPA and EDGE.
The company describes it as part of Qualcomm’s Enhanced Multimedia Platform, which includes the MSM150, MSM6280, MSM6550 and MSM6800, covering all major air interfaces.
It delivers peak data rates of 1.8 megabits per second, enabling advanced gaming, music distribution services and the faster streaming of multimedia files.
