Ericsson snags W-CDMA win in Romania

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-In its second W-CDMA contract announcement this week, L.M. Ericsson said Connex, a wireless operator in Romania, has selected the Swedish vendor to supply gear for its W-CDMA rollout. The network will be the first to offer third-generation services to mobile users in the country.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will deliver and implement 3G core and radio network equipment as well as system integration and optimization services, including multi-vendor integration. Ericsson also will provide competence development and technical support services for the supplied solutions.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Ericsson announced a W-CDMA contract with Hungary’s Pannon GSM Tuesday.
