CHATEAUFORT, France-Nortel Networks Ltd. and Qualcomm Inc. announced they conducted end-to-end test calls of a W-CDMA/HSDPA system using commercial network and handset equipment. The companies said the calls demonstrate their capabilities to commercially deliver HSDPA products.
“Qualcomm is committed to helping the W-CDMA community extend the utilization of wireless for data communications purposes,” said Sanjay Jha, president of the company’s CDMA Technologies. “This practical demonstration is a big step forward towards the realization of commercial HSDPA networks and an important validation of the enhanced performance HSDPA will bring to carriers.”
The calls worked over network equipment from Nortel and Qualcomm’s MSM6275TM chipset.
