OSLO, Norway-Colibria AS said it has assembled a three-man advisory panel to provide high-level technological expertise to the mobile messaging company.
The group will lend its knowledge in “presence,” which allows consumers to know the availability of fellow users, as well as other instant messaging-related technologies. The panel consists of Balaji Bal, chief technology officer at software developer SurfKitchen; Charles W. K. Gritton, CTO at interactive television company Hillcrest; and Peter Radley, chairman of Infomatrix, which provides mobile software solutions.
“Presence is a major growth area of the industry, across voice, SMS and MMS applications,” said Keith Gibson, chief executive officer of Colibria. “When you combine this with the exciting potential offered by instant messaging developments, we believe that it will quite literally change the way we all communicate in the future.”
