OVERLAND PARK, Kan.-Sprint Corp. reported a three-year, multi-million dollar agreement with integrated billing services provider Convergys to provide domestic wireless, global data networking and voice solutions. Sprint, which is one of Convergys’ largest clients, said that it will provide a mix of devices as part of the agreement, including the PalmOne Treo 650 smart phone.
The agreement also calls for Sprint to be the primary IP data carrier for Convergys’ locations in the United States and Canada. Convergys will use Sprint’s Multi-Protocol Label Switching VPN IP network designed to combine voice and data over a single platform for select Convergys customers’ contact and data centers.
Sprint reported late last year that it was consolidating its wireless billing platform to an outsourced Convergys solution, as well as announced a licensing agreement to use Convergys’ Infinys software to combine rating activities across all lines of business.
