Alltel to use Smith Micro data connectivity technology

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.-Smith Micro Software Inc. said Alltel will use its wireless data connectivity solution to support its high-speed data customers.

Smith Micro will customize its QuickLink Mobile and QuickLink Mobile Phonebook software for Alltel’s data connectivity kits to support all CDMA2000 1xRTT handsets that Alltel offers.

QuickLink Mobile offers Internet access via a mobile phone or PC card. It allows customers to access e-mail, upload and download files, and surf Web sites. QuickLink Mobile Phonebook allows customers to transfer phonebook information to and from any PC.
