SAN FRANCISCO-Mpowerplayer Inc. launched a new software and managed service, which the company said allows Java-based games to be delivered across multiple platforms in a mode that allows users to try them before making purchases.
Users can try the mobile Java applications at Sun Microsystems Inc.’s Java.com Web site, which incorporates the Mpowerplayer service to showcase third-party mobile gaming content. The service allows users to preview the applications on their computers before purchasing them from their carriers or other content providers for use on mobile devices.
Developers can download the Mpowerplayer Software Developer Kit free at the company’s Web site.
