NEW ORLEANS-America Online Inc. announced deals with two U.S. wireless carriers.
Cingular Wireless L.L.C. said it is working with AOL to give Cingular Wireless customers easy access to AOL’s new mobile portal, Instant Pictures and mobile You’ve Got Pictures services.
The Instant Pictures feature for the AIM service gives AIM users the ability to send pictures from their desktops to mobile phones as an extension of AOL’s mobile instant-messaging service. The service will work with most multimedia Cingular handsets and will also let those who receive mobile picture messages respond with their own photos. In addition, AOL’s new mobile You’ve Got Pictures service allows subscribers to access and share photos from their digital photo albums on their cell phones.
In addition, U.S. Cellular and Comverse, launched an advanced version of the mobile AOL Instant Messenger service developed specifically for U.S. Cellular subscribers. The mobile AIM service allows U.S. Cellular customers who also are AOL members or AIM users to automatically send and receive instant messages from their cell phones when they are away from their computers.
The service can be purchased through easyedge, U.S. Cellular’s wireless data service, for $3 per month, which includes unlimited messaging.
