INDIANAPOLIS-Nextel Communications Inc. announced it expanded its coverage in northern Indiana, giving customers access to its Direct Connect push-to-talk service and other features.
The iDEN carrier said it expanded coverage to the highways between South Bend and Fort Wayne. It also added more cell sites within Indianapolis and to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for race fans.
“We are very excited to expand our service offerings to Northern Indiana,” said Kevin Gleason, Nextel’s area vice president for Indiana, Western Pennsylvania and the Ohio Valley. “The addition of these new cell sites between South Bend and Fort Wayne and throughout Indianapolis means that our customers will enjoy better coverage once they hit the highways.”
