MEXICO CITY-Grupo Iusacell S.A. said it will have nationwide coverage following a new spectrum allocation from the country’s telecom regulator. Iusacell said it has received from the Mexican Federal Telecommunications Commission the results of the auction of several frequency bands of spectrum for fixed and mobile wireless service.
Grupo Iusacell, through its subsidiary Iusacell PCS de Mexico, was allocated 10 megahertz in the PCS regions 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. The new spectrum gives Iusacell national coverage and allows it to expand and improve its services to its customers.
Iusacell is one of the smallest wireless carriers in Mexico with more than 1.3 million subscribers.
