Kayak buys gaming company Chasma

SAN MATEO, Calif.-Mobile game publisher Kayak Interactive continued to add to its portfolio of titles Wednesday, acquiring New Hampshire-based developer Chasma Interactive Publishing.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition includes two games slated for launch in coming weeks: Internet puzzle game “Slingo” and “Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament,” based on a Fox Sports TV program. Other Chasma mobile titles include “Whac-a-Mole,” “Mastermind” and “Hangman.”

Kayak, which specializes in community-based games, moved aggressively into the European market in February with the acquisition of Swedish publisher Synergenix Interactive.

“The existing Chasma products and the additional products in development were a perfect fit with our market strategy and assessment of consumer adoption,” said Keith McCurdy, Kayak’s president and chief executive officer.
