Outsmart grabs $17M in funding

TEL AVIV, Israel-Fixed-mobile network provider Outsmart Ltd. snared $17 million in a recent funding round from Accel Partners, Gemini Israel Funds and Magnum Communications Fund, the company said Tuesday.

Outsmart said it will use the capital to deploy its SmartFMCTM offering, which allows operators to offer the same services across all networks and devices regardless of location and technology. With the product, carriers can expand networks to include such offerings as prepaid services, text messaging, instant messaging, ringback tones and VoIP (voice over Internet protocol).

“The Outsmart team has the ability to incorporate leading technological capabilities with a savvy and innovative understanding of the market,” said Avi Hasson, general partner at Gemini Israel Funds.
