OREM, Utah-Q Comm International Inc. signed a deal with Leap Wireless International Inc. to help distribute Leap’s Jump prepaid service through more than 1,000 Cricket-owned stores, third-party authorized Cricket dealers and Q Comm’s retail network.
Through the agreement, Leap is distributing Jump prepaid airtime cards through an electronic-PIN format using a customized version of Q Comm’s Qxpress 200 point-of-sale activation terminal. Q Comm noted the on-demand delivery of prepaid airtime cards is significantly less expensive than the traditional method of preprinting and distributing PINs on hard cards.
