MIAMI-SunCom Wireless Inc., which recently changed its name from Triton PCS Holdings Inc., signed a third-party logistics services agreement with Brightstar Puerto Rico Inc. to support the carrier’s wireless business in Puerto Rico.
The two-year contract calls for Brightstar to supply SunCom with logistics, inventory management, fulfillment, warehousing, kitting, shipping, reverse logistics and Web-based applications. Brightstar added that the contract began in March and includes automatic renewal provisions.
Financial terms of the contract were not released.
SunCom acquired the Puerto Rican operations from Cingular Wireless L.L.C. as part of a network swap last year prior to Cingular’s acquisition of SunCom’s former network affiliate AT&T Wireless Services Inc. SunCom also acquired several markets and spectrum in North Carolina as part of the agreement in exchange for its operations in Virginia and spectrum in Georgia.
