Psion Teklogix buys Symagery Microsystems

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario-Mobile computing company Psion Teklogix Inc. announced it acquired image capture firm Symagery Microsystems Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Psion Teklogix uses Symagery’s solutions in its Workabout Pro 7535 rugged handheld computers. The company said the acquisition will give it a leading position in the image capture market and improve its product line-up.

“This is an excellent acquisition for Psion Teklogix following several years of working together on customer projects. Symagery has developed a strong portfolio of leading image capture and processing technologies, which we have already integrated into the Psion Teklogix handheld computers for customers to use to improve their productivity,” said Alistair Crawford, chief executive officer of Psion Teklogix. “Symagery’s technology and capability fit directly with our market strategy and approach. This acquisition strengthens our product offering to our customers and partners around the world by widening their choices of data capture techniques.”
