iMedia to distribute wireless digital content

SANTA MONICA, Calif.-iMedia International Inc. said it plans to begin distributing its digital content on next-generation wireless devices during the third quarter.

The company said its wireless distribution plans include production of daily two- to three-minute “webisodes” for daily downloading or streaming, as well as developing a community of subscribers who will be able to access the company’s entertainment content, trivia games and prizes.

“By launching our own WAP site, we can immediately take advantage of the cross-promotional opportunities available to us from our optical discs,” said David MacEachern, chief executive officer of iMedia International. “The entrance into the wireless market will enable us to reach a new audience and extend our brand recognition to other forms of digital distribution.”
