The recently announced venture currently offers a mix of wireless and wired data-based services and plans to launch a mobile virtual network operator service later this year centered around high-speed wireless data services.

The company will be headed by EarthLink and Boingo Wireless Inc. founder Sky Dayton, who will assume the position as chief executive officer of SK-EarthLink. Dayton will be joined by chief operating officer Wonhee Sull, who most recently served as chief technology officer for SK Telecom’s wireless data business.

A trio of executives will report to Dayton. The executives include Todd Tappin, who was named chief financial officer; Stuart Redsun, who was appointed executive vice president of marketing; and Ali Zanjani, who was named executive VP of sales and distribution. Tappin previously served as CFO of Internet search firm Overture, while Redsun was head of worldwide brand marketing for Motorola Inc., and Zanjani was VP of sales and distribution for Cox Communications.

Serving under Sull will be Brent Cobb, who was named executive VP of strategy and business development; Jay Lee who was appointed VP of products and services; Inho Shin, who was named VP of technology; and Terry Boyle, who was appointed VP of operations. Cobb previously served as VP of EarthLink Wireless; Lee and Shin were both former executives at SK Telecom; and Boyle previously served as VP of operations at PeoplePC.
