Comverse will provide and support software and hardware to the MVNO to allow subscribers to download content, access data and browse mobile Web sites. ESPN Mobile, which is expected to aggressively market wireless data offerings, is scheduled to launch early next year.
Comverse supplies technology to more than 400 wireline and wireless operators in more than 100 countries.
“MVNOs provide a cost-effective way to reach targeted customer segments and effectively increase ARPU and subscriber loyalty through customized services,” said Ramesh Barasia, president of Comverse Americas. “We are excited to contribute to ESPN’s success in the mobile field by providing our strong marketing and technological expertise.”
