SHANGHAI, China-Chinese mobile-phone distributor China Digital Wireless Inc. said it will become the exclusive distributor of select Nokia Corp. mobile phones for the Shanghai region.
The one-year agreement is flexible in terms of the specific mobile-phone models to be distributed, to enable China Digital to be responsive to market changes and product updates from Nokia, China Digital said.
The Chinese firm said it expects increased margins on the sale of the Nokia units compared with other units the company has been selling, and it expects a boost in profitability through the deal.
China is the second-largest worldwide market for Nokia. China Digital also offers value-added services by bundling content with mobile phones.
