REDDING, Conn.-China’s MobileVision Communications Ltd. said it will launch music video programming provided by Global Music International Inc. on China Unicom’s mobile-phone network starting in August.
MobileVision’s streaming media service first will be offered free as a pilot commercial program. The company will begin charging for the service Oct. 1 on a subscription basis as a standalone premium channel.
MobileVision also will make music video content from Global available on its WAP portal pages and in links contained in its WAP push messages through China Unicom’s network.
