MUNICH, Germany-Siemens AG and NEC Corp. said they are working with Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.’s 3 Ireland to deploy its W-CDMA third-generation network.
The companies will supply 3 Ireland’s W-CDMA/UMTS radio access network. The deal includes Node-B radio base stations and radio network controllers.
3 Ireland launched its 3G service in July and covers about 60 percent of Ireland’s population to date.
Earlier this week, Nokia Corp. announced it had won a contract to supply a W-CDMA network and network management solution to 3 Ireland.
