FORT MYERS, Fla.-Kentucky-based regional carrier Bluegrass Cellular Inc. has tapped InterOp Technologies Inc. to provide ringback services, the companies said Thursday.
InterOp, which powers mobile data services for Tier 2 and 3 operators, will deliver its library of ringbacks, including real tones, sports anthems and voice tones, for Bluegrass. Ringbacks take the place of the traditional ring a caller hears while waiting for the called party to answer.
“Once again, (Bluegrass is) providing (its) customers with a leading-edge service,” said John Dwyer, president of InterOp. “It not only enables customers to entertain callers while they wait, but they can even select personalized ringback tones for each individual caller.”
InterOp delivers text and multimedia message services, a WAP gateway and other offerings to regional operators. Bluegrass provides wireless services in central Kentucky.
