MSpot uses Coding technology for Sprint radio service

SAN FRANCISCO-Coding Technologies GmbH, which supplies audio compression technology, and MSpot Inc. a mobile entertainment company, said MSpot has switched to the Coding Technologies MPEG-3 aacPlus format for its MSpot Radio service through Sprint Nextel Corp.

The aacPlus streams will play on newer aacPlus-enabled phones, such as the Samsung a800, and older Sprint PCS Vision phones.

“Getting the most bang per bit is a key factor for a leading mobile content supplier like MSpot,” said David Frerichs, vice president and U.S. general manager for Coding Technologies. “By taking advantage of the fact that aacPlus is now a basic feature of new Sprint PCS Vision handsets, MSpot delivers the best possible experience to their customers.”
