SAN FRANCISCO-The Trusted Computing Group said it plans to enable trust and security in mobile phones and their applications.
TCG is a nonprofit industry association that creates open industry specifications for vendors to use to create more secure computing products. The group has created a set of use cases for mobile-phone security and said it plans to have a publicly available specification ready for the first half of next year.
TCG’s mobile-phone work group includes Authentic, Ericsson, France Telecom, IBM, Infineon, Intel, Lenovo, Motorola, Nokia, Philips, Samsung, Sony, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, VeriSign, Vodafone and Wave Systems.
