KINGSTOWN, Jamaica-Digicel Group, a mobile communications provider in the Caribbean, said it has completed the acquisition of seven Cingular Wireless operations in the Caribbean and Bermuda after receiving regulatory approvals.
Digicel said it also has received regulatory approval to acquire Cingular’s operations on the islands of Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines and is awaiting regulatory approval on acquisitions in Barbados, the Cayman Islands and Antigua & Barbuda.
The company is aiming to build a seamless wireless network across the Caribbean.
