BRATISLAVA, Slovak Republic-IP Wireless Inc. announced European carrier Orange S.A will launch its “super-speed” UMTS TDD and HSDPA mobile Internet service in the coming months in the Slovak Republic.
“Both alternatives have their advantages,” said Dana Prekopova, technical director at Orange. “They enable high transfer and low latency rates that will compete with fixed-line broadband.”
IP Wireless said this is its second UMTS TDD trial with Orange-the first launch was announced in March and is ongoing in Lille, France.
T-Mobile recently said it launched a rival wireless broadband service using infrastructure provided by Siemens AG and Flash-OFDM technology from Flarion Technologies Inc.
