Nokia releases fashion phone trio

HONG KONG-Nokia Corp. released a trio of new phones the company described as “infusing cultural and ethnic influences with luxurious touches of the unexpected.” The fashion phones are part of Nokia’s new “L’Amour Collection.”

“For many consumers, the mobile phone has truly become an extension of their personal style. It is a fashion statement as well as an advanced communications device,” said Alastair Curtis, vice president of design for Nokia’s phone business.

Nokia’s three new phones, the 7380, 7370 and 7360, include various features such as digital cameras, MP3 players and 3D sound effects.

This is not Nokia’s first foray into the fashion realm. The company introduced its Vertu fashion phone business in 2002. Other companies have dabbled in fashion offerings, including the now-defunct Xelibri offering from what was Siemens AG. BenQ Group recently completed its acquisition of Siemens’ phone business.
