Hinshaw named Verizon Wireless CIO

BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless named John Hinshaw vice president and chief information officer.

Hinshaw has been an executive at Verizon Wireless since it launched five years ago, most recently as vice president of information technology for Verizon’s South Area. He will be responsible for the company’s Information Systems portfolio and operation of its data centers and communications facilities.

Hinshaw will report to Denny Strigl, the company’s president and chief executive officer. He replaces Roger Gurnani, who has been promoted to president of the company’s West Area business operations.
