WOBURN, Mass.-Verizon Wireless said it expanded its network coverage in four states, increasing capacity and the availability of its CDMA2000 1x EV-DO network.

In Georgia, the company added seven cell sites and expanded the availability of EV-DO services in the Atlanta metro area. Maine also saw seven new antennas go up to provide new coverage along I-95 south of Augusta.

Verizon Wireless added one new cell site in Hollis, N.H., to increase coverage and capacity along routes 130 and 122 near the Massachusetts border. In Massachusetts, the company augmented its network in Middlesex and Bristol counties, and added a new site to improve service in downtown Worcester.

The company said it invested more than $5.5 billion in its wireless network last year and added 1.9 million net new customers during the third quarter of 2005.
