Regional wireless operators Cleveland Unlimited Inc. and CSM Wireless L.L.C. are expanding their Revol-branded unlimited postpaid calling service into the Ohio cities of Canton, Youngstown and Columbus, as well as Indianapolis.
Revol launched in Cleveland in June of last year offering customers unlimited local and U.S long-distance from within their local service area for $47 per month, or $50 for unlimited use in any of the nine cities where Revol operates in Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. Those additional markets include Akron, Cleveland, Dayton and Toledo, Ohio; and Pittsburgh, Pa. No contract or credit check is required, and unlimited text messages and picture messages are included. Revol offers half a dozen handsets from Kyocera Corp. and Motorola Inc. starting at $120 apiece.
Revol markets its brand as a “grassroots movement” against mainstream wireless, constricting contracts and extra cellular charges. “We’ve positioned ourselves as a simple, plain, nice alterative for all the confusion and overage charges that are out there,” said Randy Lindsey, marketing manager for Revol. He added that Revol is working on adding further coverage.
