HELSINKI, Finland-Valimo Wireless announced it acquired UniqMinds, a mobile messaging company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Valimo sells subscriber identity and authentication software to fixed and mobile carriers. The company said it would add messaging technologies to its offering.
“UniqMinds’ PEAKm technology allows Valimo to make exciting improvements to our market-leading solution for mobile phone-based strong authentication, which is already in use in 10 countries today and growing fast,” said Will Cardwell, Valimo’s chief executive officer. “Combining Valimo’s and UniqMinds’ technologies, we have been able to significantly increase the efficiency of our solution. This leads to a simple user experience whether you are verifying an on-line banking transaction made from the PC or accessing corporate resources remotely via a VPN. It is now possible to make even the most critical transactions in a legally-binding and non-repudiable way, without the slightest concern that a third party is interfering.”
