Icera scores $40 million in VC funds for HSDPA plans

BRISTOL, United Kingdom—Icera Inc., a wireless soft modem company based in the United Kingdom, announced it secured $40 million in a Series C round of venture funding. Amadeus Capital Partners led the round, with existing investors Accel Partners, Atlas Venture and Benchmark Capital also participating.

Icera has raised a total of $82.5 million in venture capital since its founding four years ago. The company’s products and platforms are focused on the launch of HSDPA networks in Europe, the United States and emerging markets.

The new funding will be applied to the firm’s expansion of its engineering, sales, customer support and operations teams, the firm said.
