SAN JOSE, Calif.—Cantata Technology, the newly formed company created by the combination of Excel Switching Corp. and Brooktrout Technology, introduced an updated version of its SnowShore IP Media Server, which now includes support for 3G networks and IMS applications.
The product provides the Media Resource Function, which Cantata said is a key building block for advanced multimedia and interactive services within the IMS network architecture. Features of the new version include VoiceXML 2.0-compliant technology as a standard feature, support for text-to-speech and automatic speech recognition, and enhanced multimedia file format support for 3G networks.
In related news, Cantata launched its partner program that combines and builds on Excel’s partner program and Brooktrout’s Partner Access Network. JNetX Inc. joined the program this week as a technology partner.
Cantata also announced Honduras mobile provider CelTel has deployed its Integrated Media and Signaling Gateway 1010 product.
