LOS ANGELES—Mobile content provider Waat Media added two executives to its front office.

The firm, which distributes licensed content from adult-themed brands including Girls Gone Wild, Playgirl and Card Player, named David Mandell to the post of vice president and general counsel. Mandell, who spent the last 10 years as a senior vice president at Gemstar TV Guide, will be charged with managing the company’s business and legal affairs.

The company also appointed former Mobile Streams Ltd. head of operations James Fryer as director of international platform architecture and integration. Fryer, who also served as Mobile Streams’ chief technology officer, will oversee platform development and technical integration with wireless carriers.

Waat said it boasts on-deck agreements with more than 70 operators, distributing content to more than 1 billion handsets worldwide.
