LOS ANGELES—Mobile virtual network operator Amp’d Mobile Inc. is partnering with Warner Independent Pictures and Pantheon Books to offer content based on the new film “A Scanner Darkly.”
Amp’d Mobile users will be able to access a graphic novel based on the movie, which couples computer animation techniques with real-life actors to create a comic-book effect. Amp’d Mobile subscribers will also have access to an exclusive branded channel that features wallpapers and video coverage of the film’s premiere.
“A Scanner Darkly showcases the amazing ways in which book publishing can bring the excitement of these new technologies back to the printed page and we’re extremely proud of the result,” said Farah Miller, Pantheon’s director of new media. “The fact that this can be brought to so many viewers in so many formats makes us extremely positive about the future of comics.”
