SANTA MONICA, Calif.—Boingo Wireless Inc., a wholesale network aggregator and operator of Wi-Fi networks, raised $65 million in Series C funding from new and existing investors.
Boingo said the funds will provide long-term capital and underwrite its acquisition of Concourse Communications Group L.L.C., operator of airport Wi-Fi hotspots. Boingo recently acquired the company for an undisclosed price.
Mitsui & Co. led the funding round, while new investors Steelpoint Capital Partners and Red Rock Ventures also participated. Existing investors New Enterprise Associates and Sternhill Partners also supported the new round of funding.
Boingo raised more than $30 million in earlier funding rounds.
