Optimi nabs optimization contracts

ATLANTA—Optimi snagged a few “multi-million dollar, multi-year” contracts to supply tier 1 North American operators with its wireless network planning and optimization solutions, which the company says enhance expanding voice and data services platforms.

The company declined to name its new carrier customers.

Optimi said a tier 1 carrier has signed on to utilize the company’s x-Wizard network planning solution, which is designed to reduce costs associated with pre-launch testing and problem resolution through the use of modeling features such as real-time mapping, calculation and reporting. The developer said its product has been able to cut design-cycle costs by up to 20 percent through creating “what if” scenarios that can be refined and tested prior to deployments.

Another tier 1 carrier contracted with Optimi for its x-Dimension network capacity planning and optimization solutions, as well as its x-AFP, or Automatic Frequency Planning product, which helps manage spectrum usage.

Optimi said the operator plans to utilize its x-Dimension tool to predict traffic growth for voice and data services on a per-sector basis, while the x-AFP product will be employed to improve network performance and spectrum efficiency. The product helps operators factor the impact of proposed frequency plans on capacity, coverage, quality of service objectives and network expenditures.

“Our revolutionary products efficiently utilize network resources while improving quality of service and return on investment,” said Scott Willis, senior vice president of global marketing at Optimi.

Financial details of Optimi’s contracts were not disclosed.
